Nicloe Shivers

I love art! Art enables me to be creative. Currently I have been using oil on canvas along with some collage work. I really enjoy creating an idea in my head and seeing how it unfolds and takes on its own life. I also get a sense of empowerment and feel at peace when I am painting or just creating something. The Art on the Block Project has given me all this and more. I believe it is very necessary to bring Art to the masses and this project is doing it. This project is getting so much positive feedback from the community. I do hope to continue this type of community art. I want to give a shout out to my mom Carol who participated in one of our mosaics designs. She told me that my name came from the name of a women’s boutique called Nicole’s in Berkeley, California where she resided in the late 1960’s. PEACE!
