Think Outside: Washington Parks & People 25th Anniversary Campaign Launch

November 19, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

invitation-1

For the past 25 years, Washington Parks & People has been working to revitalize communities across DC through partnership, innovation, discovery, and workforce development.

With the generous help of over a quarter million volunteers and over $32 million in donated, earned, and leveraged revenue, we have removed 11 million pounds of trash and debris, removed 150 acres of invasive weeds, and planted 6,320 large native trees. Over one million people have experienced our transformations of more than 200 park sites of all kinds – 90 parks, 75 schoolyards and playgrounds, 60 community gardens.

We couldn’t have achieved these without the support from you and our warm-hearted DC community.

Washington Parks & People cordially invites you to join our 25th-anniversary celebration and campaign launch on November 19th.

Event Highlights

  • Watch City of Trees trailer, with filmmakers Lance Kramer and Brandon Kramer
  • Hear from Steve Coleman, executive director and president, about the vision for Parks & People
  • Meet our partner organizations who are helping to transform DC
  • Learn about our incredible spaces: Josephine Butler Parks Center, Riverside Healthy Living Center, and Marvin Gaye Community Greening Center.
